FLAHERTY POOL UPDATE - The Flaherty Swimming Pool will re-open today, Monday, December 10, 2018 at 12:00 PM (noon) per pool manager Louis Barnes, and will resume its regular schedule as published. The closure was due to unexpected repairs to the HVAC system, associated engineering inspections and clearances, and the need to completely re-balance the chemical levels of the pool water. BCYF Community Centers and Swimming Pools will be closed on Monday, Oct 8, in observance of Columbus Day.
The City is declaring a Heat Emergency, Today and Tomorrow, Aug 6 & 7. The Flaherty Pool will operate as a cooling center from 12 Noon through the end of the schedule on both days. Regularly scheduled programming will be cancelled. Any person may visit and use the pool after completing a brief safety form. For more information call the pool at 617-635-5181.
The City of Boston will declare a Heat Emergency starting at 12 noon today.
Effective at 12 noon today all BCYF swimming pools will adhere to the following (schedule change):
- ALL BCYF pools must be open for open swim.
- ALL programs scheduled for today after 12 noon will be cancelled.
- People are not required to have memberships to swim
they only need to complete an Aquatics drop in form.
- The state safety code of 25 to 1 ratio of swimmers to Lifeguards
will be enforced.
This will start at 12 noon today and is in effect for today only.
All City of Boston Community Centers and Swimming Pools will be closed on Wednesday July 4 in observation of Independence Day.
